The SS Moyie National Historic Site located in Kaslo BC is pleased to offer a directory advertising opportunity to local and out of area businesses. The Site has recently added an after-hours information kiosk that displays maps and advertisements to visitors in the area. It is an information source designed for tourists who arrive to our town after the operating hours of the Visitor’s Centre, but it is also seen by the over 25,000 people passing through our doors each year. It is placed in a high visibility, high traffic area and its display boards are illuminated at night. Each advertising space is approximately three by eight inches in size. The price for businesses belonging to Kaslo Chamber of Commerce is $35 annually; $50 for non-members.

"The kiosk is an inexpensive promotional tool seen by tens of thousands visitors annually."

The kiosk lists businesses under several headings including: Accommodations, Retail, Dining, Services and Outdoor/Adventure. Tourists to our area are generally looking for attractions, accommodations, golf courses and restaurants throughout British Columbia. The kiosk is an inexpensive promotional tool seen by the tens of thousands yearly and includes area maps and information on special events.

Each ad has a standard format as follows: The first line (the one with the title of your business) is a maximum of 27 characters wide. This includes spaces. You can save room by putting your telephone number on this line as well. This is followed by four lines of a maximum of 41 characters across. These would usually describe your business, directions, etc. Remember this also includes spaces. The last line simply states when you are open, i.e. year round or seasonal.

Kiosk space is offered on a first-come first-served basis. Don't hesitate to take advantage of this inexpensive promotional tool as we have limited space available. Simply send us your information for your business (it can be handwritten; we take care of the printing, placement and lamination) along with a check or money order for $35 (members) or $50 (non-members) payable to the Kootenay Lake Historical Society. You can mail this to the Kootenay Lake Historical Society, Box 537, Kaslo BC, V0G 1M0. For more information please contact: Elaine McRae at the SS Moyie National Historic Site, telephone or fax (250) 353-2525, or drop us an e-mail.
