The Archives has republished this book which has been out of print for many years.  It was originally published in 1980 when a committee of the Kootenay Lake Historical Society put ads in newspapers in Canada and USA asking families who had lived in Kaslo between about 1891 and 1915 to write their stories of that time.  They received many interesting stories including photographs and anecdotes.  The stories were compiled into a book illustrated by many photographs.

 

The new edition includes the original text plus some new stories, some of the old photographs but also many new ones. Read about what it was like to grow up in this community at the turn of the 20th Century.
